Saturday, June 15, 2013 - Quetta—Balochistan Frontier Corps (FC) recovered a huge cache of explosives during a raid at a compound in bordering town Chaman on early Friday morning.
FC sources told APP that acting on a tip off local intelligence agency had conducted a raid and seized a bulk of illegal weapons, explosive devices and a variety of material to carry out wide-scale terrorism activities.
The seizure included 32 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDS), four large and three small-sized remote controls, two ready suicide jackets, 20 anti personal mines, six bundles of Prima Cord, 300 kilogram of Aluminum Nitrate, 21 bags each containing 100 kilogram explosive material, 300 kilogram Nitro Urea, 50 kilogram Potassium Chlorate, 30 electric detonators, two electric timer, one radio transmitter, four hand-grenades with a locally manufactured bomb and 50 live rounds of Sub Machine Gun.
“A suspect has also been detained from the compound and interrogation from him would lead to bust rest of his alleged accomplices”, the sources said.
Meanwhile, the local business community has lauded the efforts of intelligence and Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) for nabbing a highly dangerous terrorists’ ring.
